Walker Church Council Minutes
December 1, 2015
Present: Walter Lockhart, Allyson Hayward, Nancy Larsen, KC Bretzke, Al Hildenbrand, Mary Parker, Jan Werness, Wayne Bailey, Greg Garman, and Lulu Philips.
The minutes were approved as read.
The finance report was given as of November 1. We budgeted for an operating fund of $102,000 and we have spent $147,000, which is a gap of $15,000 plus apportionments. The biggest deficit is in individual giving. When we have the November numbers, we will produce a report to send out with a draft budget.
The SPRC met with the new district superintendent, Dan Johnson.
Al reported for the trustees. The sound system is all but done. The heating system is running, but there is a leak, which Al is monitoring. Parking has been finalized and Jennifer will draw up maps. Jan suggested we post church service time in the entry way and on the marquee.
The Art Fair brought in $2300, a 60% improvement over last year. We need more shoppers for the artists. The next rummage sale will be in April, and the silent auction will be in the spring.
There will be services at 4 pm at Walker and 8 pm at Simpson on Christmas Eve.
Walter gave the pastor’s report. He is looking for yeast in the community to grow the mission of Walker.
Lulu put a first aid kit in the pantry.
