Building and Grounds Meeting Minutes

February 8, 2017

Those present:  Ed Ed Mueller, Al Hildenbrand, Walter Lockhart, Mary Parker, Bonita Blumenthal, Wayne Bailey, Allyson Hayward

Minutes of the last meeting of the Buildings & Grounds, Jan. 11, 2016, are approved as read.

Walter is the “representative” for the Building and Grounds Committee.  Trustees have been subsumed by the Council

The washer dryer has been deemed trash because the cost of the likely broken things has been professionally assessed as around $2000.  The Council will have to handle the financial alternative of purchasing a new residential grade stacked unit that will fit in the somewhat limited dimensions of the Janitor Closet space.

Restore six single pendant lights at the ReUse store were picked up by Walter for $25.00 and donated for the Sanctuary dome hanging fixture

Schedule a cleaning day for the kitchen.  Discussed as a good Lenten project.  Settled on March 25th 9 AM Saturday.  The focus of the work is to do is a deep clean of the Kitchen, starting at the top of the milk glass walls and washing down and then rinsing down all the walls.  The hood also needs to be degreased.

Garden Work Day.  The scope of the work on the overall grounds was discussed.

Mary Parker brought up Celebration prop storage.  She is noting the props have been moved.  In the meeting it was guessed that Jennifer has been moving the props into the closet behind the fireplace, in the back of the Womens Bath.

Rigging for the back stage hanging is on the ToDo list for Walter and Nathan.  Mary will approach Adele about getting the current hanging down.

The water incursion in the basement was discussed.  It was decided to research third party evaluaters of basement water problems in order to choose a party to provide the info for working with Kaas Wilson and Watson Forsberg.  The life of activity in the building is creating pressure on the space that is cordoned off for the water leaks.  Wayne is going consult Vojovich, et. al. for professionals for us to use.  Meanwhile the basement walls that are marked still have to be prevented from use for storage.

Meeting Adjourned.
