The Walker All Church Conference was convened by Walter Lockhart.
It was moved, seconded and passed to pay the Administrative Assistant Jennifer Gahnstrom $26,869 in yearly compensation and to pay the Communications Coordinator Debra Ramage $4478 in yearly compensation.
A resolution was presented: Whereas, section 107 of the Internal Revenue Code permits a minister of the gospel to exclude from gross income (in computing federal income taxes) “a church-designated allowance paid to him as part of his compensation to the extent used by him for actual expenses in owning or renting a home,” and
Whereas Pastor Lockhart is duly compensated by Walker UMC Church exclusively for services as a minister of the gospel; and
Whereas Walker UMC Church does not provide Pastor Lockhart with a church-owned parsonage for services that he renders to the church in the exercise of his ministry; therefore it is hereby
Resolved, that Pastor Lockhart, who will received $41,977.62 for the year 2015, shall have $15,000of that compensation hereby designated as a housing allow ance and furnishings/appurtenance allowance pursuant to Section 107 of the Internal Revenue Code; and it is further
Resolved that the designation of $15,000 as a housing/furnishing/appurtenance allowance shall apply to the calendar year 2015, and to all future years unless otherwise provided by this Council/Board.
The above resolution was seconded and passed.
Julia Philips presented the 2015 budget. It was moved seconded and passed to approve this budget.
