A group of students and professors have met with the president and other campus authorities. They are planning actions that will highlight this and other incidents that make GLBTQ folks unsafe on campus. They would appreciate support from other faith communities, especially at this rally.   FFI You can find more information about the upcoming week at http://cspstudent.wix.com/istandwithnikki If you have specific questions you can contact istandwithnikki@gmail.com or 651-276-7836.

Janet Skidmore will be in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, the Holiday Musical presented by Minnetonka Theatre.  Everyone’s favorite flying car comes to life in the musical adaptation of the beloved 1968 film version of Ian Fleming’s children’s book, which features an unforgettable score by the Sherman Brothers (Mary Poppins).  This is one family-friendly blockbuster that audiences will find “Truly Scrumptious”.  December 5-20; tickets $15 – $23.  15% discount for groups of 15 or more.  Tickets available at minnetonkatheatre.com, or by calling the box office at 952-401-5898.

And in the Holiday Pageant at Open Eye.  Well, I’ve gotten myself into a second holiday show chorus.  Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is a lot of fun and sooo… wholesome.  But my heart is with the Holiday Pageant at Open Eye.  If you have never seen this show, you really should, and not just because I’m in it.  They have not done the show in five years, which was the last time I was in it, can you believe it?  They will be having a reunion of almost the entire original cast, including Noah Sommers Haas as the boy.  He was 12 in the original production, now is 27 years old!  This show generally sells out all performances, so reservations are strongly encouraged.  On Thursday, December 10, there is a preview performance where tickets are $5 – $15, and we’d really like to get a good audience for that show, but the pay-as-able option with a minimum of $5 is available for all shows.  We rotate as chorus members, so I don’t know yet which shows I will be in, but you can read more about the show and buy tickets here:  http://www.openeyetheatre.org/stage/the-holiday-pageant.

Holiday Art Class-Ojibwe Beadwork:  A Path to Understanding:  Sat, Dec 5, 9 am to noon

Instructor:  Julie Boada. Spend a cozy morning sipping cider and learning the basic techniques of applique bed work.  You will create a simple project and leave with the skills to continue beading you dreams.  This beautiful art form reflects the traditions, costumes, culture and history of the indigenous people of the area. Materials fee:  TBD. Appropriate for adults and children age 12 and up.  Cost:  $ 30 + materials fee. FFI Anne Sawyer-Aitch bronte@bitstream.net
