Thy kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread; and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone who is indebted to us; and lead us not into temptation.”
And he said to them, “Which of you who has a friend will go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves; for a friend of mine has arrived on a journey, and I have nothing to set before him’; and he will answer from within, ‘Do not bother me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot get up and give you anything’?
I tell you, though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him whatever he needs. And I tell you, ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. Bio: Rev. Lawrence T. Richardson is a digital media minister, writer, and social advocate. He uses multiple platforms to advocate for social equity, express relevant content, and communicate inspired information. He is a graduate of both St. Catherine University and Liberty Seminary. Lawrence travels nationally and internationally to minister, and to share his personal narrative and demographic research with churches, schools, and community organizations with the hope of building a more beloved community.
Lawrence has been featured in publications such as Huffington Post Religion and The Root, and is the recipient of service awards including the Humanitarian Award from Black Transmen Inc. and was a 2014 Trans 100 honoree. You can find out more about him and his work at www.LTRichardson.com

Save the Shave: Sunday July 24, 11-5pm East Lake Street Open Streets will feature several of Walker’s finest trying to Save the Shave at 2019 East Lake Street which is the site of a transplanted Vine Church built in 1882, and then a Norwegian Fellowship (Hugnad) Hall and remarkably the original Burma Shave Factory. Music, puppetry, jingle writing and close shaves. Howard Kranz performs at 1:15, The Walker Singers at about 1:50, Conrad and Dianne and the church band at about 2:10. Stone Arch Jazz Band at 2:45 and Store Bought Hair at 3:30 plus Margo McCreary as Cauliflower the amazing horse that single backedly moved the building there in the first place and much more! Bluegrass Jam Session: Monday, July 25, 7 pm to 10 pm. These bluegrass and folk jam sessions are held the last Monday of each month in the sanctuary. National Night Out & Community Meal: Tuesday, August 2, 5 pm to 10 pm on 16th Avenue between 31st & 32nd Streets and in Walker Church. There will be music by DJ Santanero, dancing, performances by the Aztec Dancers, Chinelos and Angeles que ayudan. Come one, come all… Bring a picnic and a blanket or chair to enjoy as we ride by! Cars on display at the Lake Harriet Rose Garden, 4124 Roseway Road, from 5 – 6 pm and after the parade. Modern Pagans/Ancient Realms Art Show by MCPA-Minneapolis Collective of Pagan Artists: through July 29 at Vine Arts Center, 2637 27th Avenue South in Minneapolis: Explore the contemporary Pagan experience through local artists’ engagement with influences past and present. Walker Church will be the polling place (the place to vote) for residents of Ward 9-Precinct 5 (south of Lake Street, north of 32nd Street, east of 13th Avenue, west of Cedar Avenue) in the Minnesota Primary Election on Tuesday, August 9 & the Presidential Election on Tuesday, November 8.
Weekly Groups

Rosen Movement meets every Wednesday 9 am to 10 am. This informal group of simple and effective movement with music meets every Wednesday in the sanctuary. Yoga Flow Class is held every Wednesday from 6 to 7 pm. This vinyasa flow yoga class is taught by Yoga Alliance certified instructor, Julia Starr. It is donation-based – that means share what you can, and your presence is truly enough. Beginners are welcome! Ecstatic Movement meets every Wednesday 7:30 pm to 9:15 pm. Ecstatic Movement is free style movement practice inspired by music and conscious breathe, without any judgment of self or other community participants. It’s about being present with your own energy and discovering your own dance. No previous dance experience is necessary. Class starts with a centering, followed by 80 minutes of incredible music, and ends in stillness with an option to stay for a closing circle. Cost: $10-15. Arrive at 7:15 to check in and warm up.
