Existence having born them and fitness bred them, while matter varied their forms and breath empowered them, all created things render, to the existence and fitness they depend on, an obedience not commanded but of course.
And since this is the way existence bears issue and fitness raises, attends, shelters, feeds and protects, do you likewise. Be parent, not possessor, attendant, not master, be concerned not with obedience but with benefit, and you are at the core of living.

Now when the days drew near for him to be taken up, Jesus set out resolutely to go to Jerusalem. He sent messengers on ahead of him. As they went along, they entered a Samaritan village to make things ready in advance for him, but the villagers refused to welcome him, because he was determined to go to Jerusalem. Now when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, do you want us to call fire to come down from heaven and consume them?” But Jesus turned and rebuked them, and they went on to another village.
As they were walking along the road, someone said to him, “I will follow you wherever you go.” Jesus said to him, “Foxes have dens and the birds in the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.” Jesus said to another, “Follow me.” But he replied, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.” But Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but as for you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God.” Yet another said, “I will follow you, Lord, but first let me say goodbye to my family.” Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”

Rosen Movement: Wednesday, June 29, 9 am to 10 am. This informal group of simple and effective movement with music meets every Wednesday in the sanctuary. Ecstatic Movement: Wednesday, June 29, 7:30 pm to 9:15 pm. Ecstatic dance is free style movement practice inspired by music and conscious breathe, without any judgment of self or other community participants. It’s about being present with your own energy and discovering your own dance. No previous dance experience is necessary. Class starts with a centering, followed by 80 minutes of incredible music, and ends in stillness with an option to stay for a closing circle. Cost: $10-15. Arrive at 7:15 to check in and warm up. In our Sunday Celebration Services, the final four Sundays in July will be dedicated to the ever-fascinating subject of human sexuality! The Sunday Celebration Committee brings you Brent and Maya Bender and Tina Cotterman on July 10. We present Goran and John Gustav-Wraithal on July 17. (July 24 is still pending). And our very own Bessie Rose Browne will speak on Sunday, July 31! Don’t miss any of these interesting presentations!
Modern Pagans/Ancient Realms Art Show by MCPA-Minneapolis Collective of Pagan Artists: July 8-29 at Vine Arts Center, 2637 27th Avenue South in Minneapolis: Explore the contemporary Pagan experience through local artists’ engagement with influences past and present. Featured arties include Bonita Blumenauer.
Opening: Friday, July 8, 6 to 10 pm with Louis Alemayehu giving a spoken word performance at 8 pm.
Gallery Hours: Mondays and Thursdays 5 to 6:45 pm, Saturdays 11 am to 5 pm.

For 2016, Minneapolis Elections & Voter Services has relocated the Ward 9-Precinct 5 polling place from Powderhorn Park to Walker Community Church. Any registered voters affected by this change will receive a notice via postcard from Hennepin County.
Please consider serving as an election judge at one of your neighborhood polls! It’s a great service to your neighbors, and can be done as a paid employee or as a volunteer. Election Judge pay will be $13.30/hour for the August 9 primary and November 8 general election. Voters seeking more information on upcoming elections, how to vote via absentee ballot (no excuse needed!), a link to the Secretary of State’s poll finder, and more can visit the City’s Elections & Voter Services website at: vote.minneapolismn.gov
