Dao De Jing Chapter 48 followed by 5 minutes of silence.
The actions of an educated person increase every day.
The actions of one who has an understanding of the process of Dao decrease every day.
They keep decreasing and decreasing again to the point that there’s no reason to take actions.
Not purposely taking action, yet never without acting.
To take hold of the world, constantly be without working at it.
Chasing after it has to involve work – but never enough to take hold of the world.

Scripture Reading Genesis 9:8-17 by Brent Bender
God said to Noah and to his sons with him, “As for me, I am establishing my covenant with you and your descendants after you, and with every living creature that is with you, the birds, the domestic animals, and every animal of the earth with you, as many as came out of the ark I establish my covenant with you, that never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of a flood, and never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.”
God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: I have set my bow in the clouds, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. When I bring clouds over the earth and the bow is seen in the clouds, I will remember my covenant that is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. When the bow is in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.”
God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant that I have established between me and all flesh that is on the earth.”

The theme is sixties clothing – be creative; come as your favorite hippie, flower child or straight. Bring a Pot luck dish to share, your favorite beverage, dancing shoes. Cost: $10 suggested minimum donation to Walker Church in gratitude for use of this wonderful space. The Quilt Show will be up for a week from March 13- 20. Please make arrangements with Anne if you want to see the quilts at a specific time. OR come to Walker Church for the weekly free meal Tuesday, March 17th (St. Patrick’s Day) and Anne will be there to talk about her quilts. Meal time: 5:30-6:45 p.m.

Qu’ran for the Non-Muslim Westerner: Tues, Feb. 24, 7 pm at the 3M Auditorium, Owens Science Center (OSC 150) University of St. Thomas, St. Paul. Free. What does the Qur’an offer to a non-Muslim, Western audience? As many in the United States have become more aware of the billion Muslims who share our planet, they wonder about this book. You are cordially invited to attend Dr. David Penchansky’s public lecture “Some Suras: A Biblical Scholar Reflects on the Qur’an.” The lecture is a part of the University of St. Thomas theology department’s New Frontiers in Theological Research Lecture Series and is co-sponsored by the Muslim-Christian Dialogue Center.
